While the squad is in decent shape, it could use some new faces. Players like Jadon Sancho and Harry are being linked with moves. However, that would mean selling off some players to raise funds. Six names including first-team stars, on-loan and fringe players could be on the chopping block.

The first is David De Gea, who has fallen down the pecking order to become the second choice. United are not keen on paying such exorbitant wages for a player to warm the benches.

The next first-team player to make way could be Juan Mata. The Spaniard has been a good servant for the club but largely finds himself on the periphery of the squad these days.

Among the players on loan, Jesse Lingard could fetch the most fee after his renaissance with West Ham. The likes of Andreas Pereira, Tahith Chong and Diogo Dalot are also likely to be shipped off on permanent deals.

  • Manchester United to offer Edinson Cavani an impressive £250k per week to stay for another season
  • Promising Manchester United midfielder James Garner could be loaned to a foreign club this summer
  • Manchester United and Ajax Amsterdam face off in the battle to sign Kamaldeen Sulemana

United are hoping to raise around £77m from the sales to help put together a package for the likes of Kane and Sancho. There are bound to be some new arrivals next season after the improvements shown this season.

However, certain players like the aforementioned names might have to be sold to generate funds in this pandemic affected economy.
