Manchester United reach an agreement to sign Ecuadorian international Moises Caicedo

According to Costa Rican outlet Diario Extra (h/t The Metro), Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Ecuador international Moises Caicedo.

The development comes after United outbid Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig for the 19-year-old midfielder. Considering they knocked us out of the Champions League, beating them to Caicedo can be seen as somewhat of a payback.

Having already secured Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo, United’s capture of Caicedo is a testament to the club’s ability to attract the best young talents in world football.

According to the report, the contract is expected to be signed soon. Once completed, Caicedo will become the second Ecuadorian after Antonio Valencia to don the famous red shirt.

Despite his age, Caicedo is already a full international for Ecuador. The 19-year-old has so far made four appearances for his country, scoring one goal. (h/t Metro)

The deal will see United fork out £5.5million plus add-ons for the player’s services. The deal will also include a 20% sell-on clause. (h/t Metro)

The midfielder arrives at United as a much-hyped player with experience at the international level. Given the low fee we have paid to apparently secure his services, the club might have hit the jackpot with the young Ecuadorian.

Caicedo has his best years ahead of him. Hopefully, we can see him develop into a world-class star at Old Trafford.
