La Liga outfit RCD Mallorca are closing on a deal for a member of the attacking ranks at Premier League side Leeds United.
That’s according to market insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Mateo Joseph as the player in question.
Joseph, for those not familiar with his name, is a Spanish youth international, who has been plying his club trade with the aforementioned Leeds since departing Espanyol back in the summer of 2022.
The striker played something of a bit-part role at Elland Road this past season, en route to the Whites securing promotion back to the Premier League.
All told, Joseph racked up 39 Championship appearances (11 starts), chipping in with three goals and three assists.
And along the way, he is understood to have piqued the attentions of a whole host of clubs across the continent.
As alluded to above, though, it is La Liga side Mallorca who currently appear to be best positioned when it comes to striking a deal for the 21-year-old.
As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto:
‘Mallorca sets its sights on Mateo Joseph. Mallorca and Leeds are holding advanced talks for the simple loan of the Spanish striker. Leeds has rejected all transfer proposals received in recent weeks for him; the only formula the English club is considering is a loan without a purchase option. Mallorca, well positioned.’
