AS Monaco announces the transfer of Malamine Efekele. The 21-year-old French striker, trained at the Academy, has joined FC St. Gallen (Swiss first division).

He arrived at AS Monaco in 2019, from AS Bondy, at the age of 15. Malamine Efekele, a native of Livry-Gargan in Seine-Saint-Denis, then climbed all the levels of the Academy, until joining the firest team while continuing his development with the Elite Group.

A loan to gain experience at Cercle Bruges

During the second part of the 2023-2024 season, he joined Cercle Bruges, the sister club of AS Monaco, on loan. With the Groen-zwart, he participated in the club’s historic season in the Jupiler Pro League: as they finished in fourth place, their best since 2007, and one which qualified them for Europe, for the first time in 13 years.

During the 2024-2025 season, Malamine was loaned back to Cercle, where he contributed to the club’s European run in the Europa Conference League, reaching the round of 16. The striker will now continue his career in Switzerland, playing for FC St. Gallen, currently second in the league.
