Maghnes Akliouche (23) is expected to garner considerable interest this summer. Despite signing a contract extension unti 2028 last summer amid interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco’s model is based around selling their top academy products.

Adi Hütter has already publicly admitted that interest in the France youth international is likely at the end of the season, whilst, in an exclusive interview with Get French Football News, he also evoked the Principality club’s model. “I am encouraged to see where he (Akliouche) can go. For me, we don’t know what happens. If we lose him in the summer, we lose him in the summer,” began the Monaco manager.

He added, “This is also the club’s strategy to bring in young talents from its own academy to the first team an then at one point to sell them – this is the club’s plan and it is a good one! This is the process as a coach. I want to follow (Akliouche). This is the history of the club and I like it!”

No talks about Akliouche’s future with hierarchy

However, he certainly won’t come cheap for suitors. “It is logical that clubs are interested in him. He is a Monaco player and it won’t be easy to take him out of here,” Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro told Téléfoot earlier this year.

Akliouche recently switched agents and speaking at a press conference attended by Get French Football News, the playmaker did not wish to explain that decision, citing “personal reasons.” He also was elusive on his future at his formative club.

“I’m not thinking about it. I am focused solely on the next six matches. We will see what will happen at the end of the season. The question will maybe come at the end of the season, I think,” said the Frenchman, who added that there had not yet been talks with the hierarchy regarding his future at the club.
