According to Fabrice Hawkins, Lyon are set to contact Troyes to inform them that they intend to make Mama Baldé’s (28)loan move a permanent one. OL have a purchase option to sign the Guinea-Bissau international and intend to exercise the option in the January transfer window.
Les Gones’ purchase option to make the transfer permanent is valued at €6m. The 28-year-old signed for Lyon on loan from Troyes in the summer transfer window. Baldé has struggled to recapture his impressive form for Troyes in the 2022/23 Ligue 1 season that saw him secure a move to the Groupama Stadium. The former Dijon forward is yet to score in ten appearances.
If Lyon are to exercise their purchase option, Mama Baldé would become the Rhône club’s 5th permanent signing of the winter window. OL have already had a busy window securing 4 new arrivals. Lucas Perri and Adryelson have both signed from sister club Botafogo and they have also confirmed a double swoop from Gent for Gift Orban and Malick Fofana.
