André Onana’s protracted transfer from Ajax to Lyon appears to be drawing closer to a resolution.

Sky Sport in Italy have reported that there is a five-year deal from the French side on the table that is largely in line with the goalkeeper’s requirements.

The focus will now switch to the two clubs to see if they can reach agreement on a fee.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has said the clubs are moving towards a compromise on that front.

Lyon had offered €5m for the 25-year-old, but the Dutch outfit were looking for €10m.

Onana is currently suspended from all football activity after testing positive for the banned substance Furosemide.

The Cameroon international was initially suspended for a year, but had it reduced to nine months after the Court of Arbitration for Sport accepted his argument that he had injected the substance “in error”.

He will be available to play again on 4 November, and is free to resume training in early September.
