After going the full 90 minutes with the England U-21s in their 4-1 win over Andorra on Friday night, Luke Thomas withdrew from the Three Lions squad ahead of their 3-0 win over Albania.

TalkSPORT journalist Jason Bourne claims that the Leicester starlet has returned to the King Power Stadium for ‘further assessment on an injury issue.’

The injury is ill-timed for Thomas as Wesley Fofana is ready to feature in his first Premier League outing of the season while Jonny Evans made his way back to the pitch just before the international break.

James Justin, Ricardo Pereira and Timothy Castagne have also recently returned from injury issues of their own, meaning Thomas and Ryan Bertrand are now the only defenders manager Brendan Rodgers won’t be able to count on.

The 20-year-old Thomas has made 29 appearances in all competitions this season, with his 2,456 minutes ranking eighth in the Foxes squad.
