Caleb Okoli looks set for the Leicester City exit door this summer
Leicester City are set to cash in on centre-back Caleb Okoli this summer as part of a £30 million-plus plan to raise transfer funds, sources have exclusively told Football League World.
The Foxes have finally appointed a new head coach in the form of Marti Cifuentes, with the ex-QPR boss replacing Ruud van Nistelrooy in the King Power Stadium dugout following the club's relegation from the Premier League.
It is the Championship that City will ply their trade in once more for the 2025-26 season, but there's work to be done in regards to Cifuentes' squad that he'll have available for the upcoming campaign - and it's likely that players will have to depart before they arrive.
Leicester aren't flush with cash following their drop back into the Championship, and FLW has been told a few players will inevitably have to be sold to raise some funds.
It has already been reported that Danish goalkeeper Mads Hermansen is of interest to other clubs, with both Chelsea and West Ham keen, and Football Insider claim that the Foxes are ready to consider £20 million offers for his services.
According to FLW's sources though, the club plan on raising at least £30 million in player sales this summer, with Caleb Okoli also in line for an exit from the East Midlands outfit.
The 24-year old defender, who is estimated - via Capology - to be on £25,000 a week at Leicester, has only been at the club since last summer following his £13 million move from Atalanta, but he could be readied for a quick exit after suffering from the Premier League drop.
Okoli featured in just 19 of Leicester's 38 Premier League matches last season, starting in the first few months of the campaign under Steve Cooper but less so under his successor Van Nistelrooy, with just three top flight starts coming in 2025.
And with Leicester wanting to raise at least £30 million through getting rid of players in the transfer market, Okoli is set to join Hermansen as players that Cifuentes is set to get rid of so that he can start to re-shape the Foxes squad in his own way.
