Inter's first match in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup was a game like no other for Luis Henrique and Petar Sučić, the two new arrivals who joined us in June. Both will remember the fixture against Monterrey as a very special day as it is the first time that they represented Inter. It was the first official appearance for both of them, a piece of Inter history, and an achievement earned in the fascinating competition that is the new FIFA Club World Cup. Of the two of them, the first to come on was Luis Henrique: the Brazilian winger replaced Benjamin Pavard in the 58th minute to cover on the right wing. Luis showed great concentration and skills, playing the ball with precision and always eager to get involved. In attack, the new Inter number 11 showed a glimpse of his pace, often winning races against Monterrey defenders, also testing them with his dribbling on a few occasions. In total, Luis Henrique had 20 touches, completing 75% of the twelve passes attempted in 32 minutes.
Petar Sučić had to wait ten minutes longer: the number 8 appeared on the fourth official's board in the 68th minute of Monterrey vs. Inter. His substitution also saw a change up in Cristian Chivu's tactics: Sučić replaced Asllani, switching to a four-man midfield from the original five. Petar played as a left centre-mid, looking for movement and options up the pitch. In his 22 minutes on the pitch, Sučić had 14 touches, completing 10 of his 11 attempted passes. It is a match that will stick with Luis Henrique and Petar Sučić: important minutes that mark the beginning of their Nerazzurri adventure.
