FC Barcelona were unable to advance to the UEFA Champions League final as they were beaten by Inter Milan in the semi-final with a 7-6 scoreline on aggregate.
However, the Catalans were only a few minutes away from a berth in the final, and if things had gone their way, the Blaugranes would have faced a familiar face in this final match.
In the other semi-final, Paris Saint-Germain beat Arsenal to secure their place in the final. Thus, if Barcelona had beaten Inter, they would have faced the last manager with whom they won the Champions League 10 years ago.
There is no doubt that such a tie would have been special for the Spanish coach as well, as he has never hidden his love for the Blaugrana club.
In fact, he once again expressed this love before the game against Arsenal, as he commented: “My love for Barça will never fade; I have a past I’m very proud of.”
Owing to his previous ties and emotional attachment to the Catalan side, he is frequently asked about Barcelona. This happened once again recently as Enrique talked to the press after his side’s resounding 4-1 win over Montpellier in Ligue 1.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spaniard was asked about his prediction for today’s El Clásico. The PSG manager had a clear scoreline in mind, as he commented: “3-0 for Barcelona, easy.”
There is no doubt about Enrique’s love for Barcelona, but what makes it even more interesting is the fact that he has played for both Real Madrid and the Blaugrana club during his career as a player.
Then as a manager, he guided the Catalan side to a treble back in 2015, with the frontline of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez. Hopefully, the current Barcelona team will give him more reason for joy by beating their arch-rivals in another match today.
