Lucas Paquetá bids farewell to Flamengo ahead of Milan move

Lucas Paquetá has penned his farewell ahead of Flamengo’s final match of the season, when they face Atlético Paranaense this Saturday at the Maracanã.

Milan officially announced the €35m deal to purchase of the 21-year-old back in October, and the Brazilian will join the club in January.

“The time has come for the salutes,” Paquetá said.

“I’m ready to start new adventures, I thank the club for all it has given me, but after 12 years I think the time has come to leave.

“I will have many things on my mind in the next days, I have to rest and work to prepare the last game well.

“I think this is just a see you later, not a goodbye.”

The crafty midfielder has scored 10 goals and added four assists in 38 matches in all competitions in 2018, as he helped lead Flamengo to a second place finish.
