This afternoon, an update emerged about Thiago Motta’s future, and it is not a positive one for AC Milan after their recent attempts to salvage a move for him.

Since cracks began to form about Stefano Pioli’s Milan future, one name has remained consistently attached to the post, Thiago Motta. The Bologna head coach first emerged before Christmas as a favoured candidate, and with his links to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, these links were strengthened.

His overachievement with the Rossoblu this season has earned him a lot of praise, understandably, but his work is much more than results. He has cultivated the side and brought the club a new identity.

The recruitment has been exceptional, and players have risen in value exponentially, look at Lewis Ferguson, Ricardo Calafiori, and Joshua Zirkzee, who could be worth nearly €100 million combined after the coaching from Motta.

For these reasons, the Rossoneri have been interested for a prolonged period, but their reluctance to move away from Pioli may have cost them the chance to pursue him properly. Reports emerged in recent weeks about Juventus having an agreement with the coach, and today, Daniele Longo suggested on his X account that a deal could be finalised soon, given reports suggest that Massimiliano Allegri will not continue at the club.

Suggestions have been made that the Diavolo had recently attempted to salvage a deal for him, but today’s hint from Longo suggests that this will not be feasible, and Juventus may soon snatch him.
