London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Dutch international midfielder Daniëlle van de Donk on a two-year deal.

The Pride announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 33-year-old joins London City Lionesses off the back of a four-year spell with French club OL Lyonnes. The midfielder won the UEFA Women’s Champions League in her time with Les Fenottes along with three league titles, two Trophée des Championnes and the Coupe de France.

Van de Donk is no stranger to Barclays Women’s Super League football. She was a league winner during a six-year stay with Arsenal between 2015 and 2021.

After joining London City Lionesses, Van de Donk said “It’s been crazy, I’m feeling really good!

“It’s just such a nice environment to be in, the club really appeals to me, it reminds me of a little family, and I want to be a part of it!

“The project that London City have, it’s different but in a good way. London City have to battle for everything and that’s my style.”

Van de Donk is London City Lionesses’ first signing since the club sealed promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League at the end of this season.
