Lommel have announced the signing of highly rated Croatian attacking midfielder Leon Lalić from RB Salzburg. The fee, reported by Fabrizio Romano, is said to be around €4m. Lommel are part of the City Group and have benefited from the finances associated with the inclusion in the portfolio of sides. Since taking over, the City Group helped the side remain in the second tier of Belgian football and have brought in a number of young talented players.
Lalić has signed a contract until 2026 with the side having spent the last few seasons in the RB Salzburg academy. Lommel have started their season with two wins, both being 1-0 with goals coming late in matches. The side are hoping to push for promotion this season, having spent the last few campaigns developing young talent rather than looking to fight for a place in the Belgian Pro League.
This weekend the side face Deinze, who have won once and lost once this season. They were on the other end of a 3-1 defeat to Patro Eisden, with the latter benefiting from their new Icelandic arrival Stefán Ingi Sigurdarson.
