Moise Kean acknowledges teammate

Fulham are reportedly interested in the signing of £30million Juventus striker Moise Kean, in a move which could clear a path for Tottenham to sign Gift Orban.

Fulham have felt the force of Saudi Arabia more than a lot of sides this summer. They saw Al Shabab attempt to prise Willian from them just weeks after he had agreed to re-join the club for a second year, though the Cottagers forced him to stay.

Aleksandar Mitrovic was then enticed by the prospect of a move to Saudi Arabia, and has moved Al Hilal, but in losing their star striker, Fulham were generously remunerated to the tune of between £46-50million.

As such, they’re now on the lookout for a striker to replace him, and with the money they’ve made, are looking at quality options, including Juventus forward Kean.

Calciomercato reports ‘the parties are at work’ for the signing, which would cost somewhere between £25-30million. That’s as ‘there may be little space in attack’ for Kean at Juventus, who has only just been permanently signed in this window.

Fulham can afford the fee after selling Mitrovic, and splashing the cash on Kean would help Tottenham out.

Indeed, Spurs are in pursuit of Gent striker Orban, but Fulham have also been linked with him. The Belgian outfit have made it clear that either side would have to pay between £30-40million – though closer to the top end of that – for the star.

Fulham are not as financially blessed as Spurs, so they’d have to pick between the signings of Kean and Orban. That means that if it is the Juve man they go for, their London rivals would be given a clear run at Orban.

There are benefits to signing both men. Kean is experienced both in the Premier League – where he has admittedly scored just two goals – and other top leagues; his best tally was 13 Ligue 1 goals for Paris Saint-Germain in the 2020/21 season.

Orban, on the other hand, is in electric form at the moment. The Gent forward has has scored six goals in as many games this season, including a hat-trick in UEFA Conference League qualifying.

As such, Fulham will have to carefully decide which man they want to put their energy into, and Tottenham will be hoping they don’t land on Orban, as their pursuit becomes much easier at that point.
