Liverpool defender Conor Bradley has opened up on his impressive emergence this season and the ‘pinch-myself’ moment of scoring his first senior goal.

Bradley has taken his chance in Jurgen Klopp’s team, capitalising on an injury to Trent Alexander-Arnold to establish himself in the Reds side.

The 20-year-old has provided six assists and a goal in 18 appearances in all competitions and started as Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties to win the Carabao Cup at Wembley last month.

Bradley has now linked up with the Northern Ireland side ahead of fixtures with Romania and Scotland this month and has opened up on a whirlwind couple of months. He said his first goal, scored in the Premier League win over Chelsea, was a special moment.

“I definitely didn’t think it would go this well,” Bradley said, as per MSN.

“You dream about scoring your first goal for Liverpool but never think it will come true.

“My pinch-myself moment was probably against Chelsea when I scored and got two assists. The fans chanting my name was pretty special. I don’t think I will have a better night than that to be honest.”

Bradley has become a household name in recent weeks with his eye-catching performances for Liverpool, though the full-back insists his international teammates have helped keep him grounded.

“I haven’t really felt it to be honest. I just try to keep doing the same things I was doing before.

“I am still the same person I was before. None of it has changed me so I just want to keep working hard and doing what I am doing.

“All the lads still treat me the same, they still slag me off!” he said. “The boys (Northern Ireland) have been brilliant with me since I’ve come back in.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been away with Northern Ireland, Denmark in June. I’ve missed quite a bit so I’m buzzing to be back.”
