Newcastle United are now set to receive a formal offer of £100m from Liverpool for Alexander Isak.
That is according to Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
He works for the broadcaster in Switzerland and claims that a meeting is scheduled in the next 48 hours between Liverpool and Newcastle United to discuss the transfer.
The Sky Sports journalist stating that an initial offer of £100m will start the process.
Sacha Tavolieri also adds that his information is that personal terms have already been agreed between Alexander Isak and Liverpool on a five year contract, with a salary that allegedly ‘perfectly matches his salary expectations.’
You always have to have a high degree of scepticism when dealing with transfer claims from journalists, with very few exceptions.
The Sky Sports journalist claims that the Liverpool ‘strategy’ is to offer £100m for Alexander Isak and hope that Newcastle United drop their reported valuation of £150m+, then NUFC willing to meet on a £120m figure with performance related bonuses.

Maybe £140m/£145m guaranteed plus significant all but guaranteed future add-ons.
Once again, any club that thinks they might get any kind of a bargain with Alexander Isak this summer, is going to be badly mistaken. In reality, any club that was seriously going to try and sign the striker should have been making an offer two months ago when last season ended. With three years left on Isak’s deal, the Newcastle United owners
