LIVERPOOL WANT NDICKA ‘Liverpool are in the fight for one of the Bundesliga’s hottest defensive properties,’ according to the Daily Mirror, and the man in question is Evan Dicka (one of the best players available on a free transfer this summer) of Eintracht Frankfurt. He is 6’4″ and a left-sided centre-half who can also fill in at left-back.

GVARDIOL NOT FOR SALE At the other end of the expense scale for centre-halves is RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, but Sky Germany say the Croat is absolutely not for sale this summer, despite attracting interest from most of Europe’s top clubs.

MOUNT WANTED IN MUNICH Liverpool’s pursuit of Mason Mount might flounder because Bayern Munich are eyeing the Chelsea midfielder as a little gift to new manager Thomas Tuchel, according to The Times. Chelsea want around £50m for the England man who is out of contract in the summer of 2024.

This is particularly amusing because, when Tuchel was appointed by Chelsea in January 2021, Times man Henry Winter was incensed at the treatment of Bambi/Frank Lampard and warned that ‘Tuchel had better not mess Mount around’. Not only did he not mess him around…he would quite like to take him to Munich, thank you.

In other Chelsea exit news, Sport claim that Barcelona are assessing the possibility of taking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back on loan from the Blues, with the former Arsenal striker willing to take a pay cut to make it happen.
