Liverpool have turned down an approach from Bayern Munich for Luis Diaz.
The German champions have enquired into the availability of the Colombia international but have been informed that Diaz is not for sale.
Liverpool’s stance follows a similar rejection of Barcelona’s interest in the player earlier in the transfer window.
Diaz has been named as a potential departure at Liverpool following the arrival of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. The winger has two years remaining on his current contract at Anfield and has also been subject of interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
Last season, Diaz scored 13 times in the Premier League as Liverpool won the title under Arne Slot.
Despite the winger turning 29 next season and entering the final two years of his deal, Liverpool are keen to maximise the player’s performance value over any transfer fee. It would take an offer too good to turn down to change their stance on his future.
Bayern Munich identified Diaz as a potential target as the Bundesliga side look to sign a high-profile left-winger.
Bayern have also expressed interest in Diaz’s club teammate, Cody Gakpo, alongside Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao. Vincent Kompany’s side are looking to add another option to their attack following the exits of Leroy Sane, Mathys Tel and Thomas Muller.
