Liverpool manager Klopp slams 'ridiculous' Firmino criticism

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is furious about any criticism directed towards Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino.

The Reds produced an excellent display at home to defeat Leicester City 3-0.

Despite their injury woes, Liverpool showed why they are the best team in the Premier League.

Firmino got just his second goal of the season, and Klopp was quick to defend the 29-year-old.

"What people say about him is ridiculous," the German told Sky Sports.

"I think it's because they've got nothing else to talk about.

"You cannot be closer to a goal than he was tonight and everybody thought the same at that moment, when it was 3-0 with exactly the right goalscorer.

"He was outstanding tonight."
