Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs who have “loved” what they have seen from Ghana and Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus at the World Cup.

It would be hard to find a player who has boosted their reputation more during the World Cup than Kudus.

The attacker is a bit-part player for Ajax and he was heavily linked with Everton during the summer transfer window.

“I was really close to joining Everton. I thought it was a good project for me and I felt I should try it.

“It wasn’t like this season was my first (at Ajax), it was my third. So if I’m not getting the progress I’m looking for, then why not try something else?

He added: “I spoke to Lampard. I had a chat with him to find out the project they had for me, what he thought about me and how he saw me as a player, because definitely that would be the green light for me to decide whether I wanted to move. Without the coach, there is nothing.”

Kudus has been in and out of the team in the Eredivisie this term but he has still managed to net five goals in 14 outings.

He made a name for himself more in the Champions League with his five goal involvements in Ajax’s six group games.

Now Kudus is shining for Ghana at the World Cup. His brace helped his side beat South Korea 3-2 earlier this week.

Clubs around Europe are interested in Kudus and Liverpool are said to be among them.

TeamTalk transfer expert Graeme Bailey has now revealed that Liverpool have “loved what they have seen” from Kudus in Qatar.

Bailey has also revealed that Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham “all like him” and he will likely cost £30m in January.

“Few players at the World Cup have enhanced their reputation more than Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus,” Bailey told TeamTalk.

“Let’s get this right, no club will buy a player solely based on his two World Cup performances so far.

“But with Kudus starting just five league games for Ajax this season, it has given clubs the chance to see him play at the top level, and they have loved what they have seen.

“The great thing with him is going forward. And various clubs see him in different ways from a wideman, to a centre-forward even a CAM. His versatility is a huge draw.

“Sources close to Ajax have confirmed a lot of interest from England. Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle all like him. But I am also hearing the likes of Borussia Dortmund are keen too.

“It is strange to think that Everton almost got Kudus for just £15m in the summer, only for Ajax to back off…

“And now they are asking more than double that, and there are clubs looking look like they could pay it.”
