The perfect player in question is Kim Min-jae. The 28-year-old South Korean international comes with a brilliant pedigree.

According to Caught Offside, he is on he club's radar this summer with Kim reportedly keen on the move.

The report claims that he'd be available for as little as €35m, which is a bargain for a player who dominated attackers at Napoli.

He hadn't quite settled at Bayern Munich but that's through no fault of his own. A lot of players have struggled at Bayern recently, including Ryan Gravenberch.

Signing Kim for as little as €35m would be a mega piece of business from Richard Hughes.

Statistically, Kim is a brilliant defender. He's ranked third for successful defensive duels (74.19%) among centre-backs in the Bundesliga.

He's also strong in the air, averaging over five aerial duels per 90 minutes and winning over 60% of his duels.

At the same time, he's an extremely comfortable player on the ball. No one makes more forward passes than Kim (37.5 per 90) among centre-backs in the Bundesliga.

He has the best passing accuracy rate as well (94%) and only one player averages more progressive passes (11.98 per 90 minutes).

For the price being quoted for him in the report above, he'd be an absolute bargain.

As a centre-back at 28-years-old, he still has plenty of years left at the top of his game. Getting him to play alongside Van Dijk would make the Reds impenetrable.

It's the kind of duo opposition attackers would be terrified of facing.
