Liverpool lean on Fluminense to beat Barcelona to Andre Trindade
Tribal Football
Liverpool are leaning on their relationship with Fluminense in the battle for midfielder Andre Trindade.
The Liverpool Echo says the young Brazilian, who goes by the name 'Andre', is 20, but has already made 69 appearances for the club. He is a defensive midfielder and would join the large contingent of Brazillian players at Anfield including Alisson, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho.
The Reds have a good relationship with Fluminese, having signed highly-rated young goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga from the club in 2020. If Andre was to sign, it would be part of manager Jurgen Klopp's wider strategy to bring in talented youngsters to Anfield as he seeks to build another trophy-winning squad.
He would be joining a number of other young stars who the Reds have signed already this summer including Fabio Carvalho from Fulham and Ben Doak from Celtic, while there are strong links with Aberdeen's Calvin Ramsay.
The Reds will face competition for the Brazilian however, with Ajax, Barcelona and Udinese all linked with the midfielder.
