Liverpool have reached an ‘agreement’ for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, as cited by the Liverpool Echo.
The report states that the deal could cost around £30 million if completed. The report further adds that Liverpool could finalise the transfer come the 2022 January transfer window.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
We do hope that Fichajes’ report is accurate. We would love to see the club sign Bissouma.
The midfielder is not a huge goalscorer. Bissouma has only scored four goals and registered two assists in 101 appearances for Brighton’s first-team.
However, the Mali international brings plenty of quality to Brighton’s team. Bissouma can tackle, dribble and intercept.
The midfielder also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.98 across the 2020-21 Premier League campaign. The aforementioned figure highlights that Bissouma is capable of performing in England’s top division of football.
To conclude, the 25-year-old would add depth and talent to Liverpool’s midfield.
Only time will tell if Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Bissouma. For the time being, we are just going to sit back and enjoy watching the Reds play football.
