Jurgen Klopp is readying himself for his penultimate game in charge of Liverpool at the scene of one of the club's most important wins during his reign.

The Reds travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Monday night, a venue that Klopp has visited six times during his time at Liverpool so far.

There have been some difficult moments - a 7-2 defeat at the start of the 2020/21 season - and some big wins - a 6-0 triumph in 2016 - but it's also the stadium in which Klopp's side claimed one of their most significant victories.

During the 2019/20 Premier League title-winning season, Liverpool visited Villa in November and found themselves one goal behind at half-time. However, they would go on to win the match 2-1 thanks to goals from Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane in the 87th and 94th minute respectively.

The result lifted the Reds six points clear at the top of the table with 11 games played and kept Liverpool fans dreaming of a first ever title.

But speaking before this Monday's match, Klopp revealed that while it was all happy families after the full-time whistle, things got a little heated during the 2019 clash in the Midlands.

Speaking about the 2-1 victory en route to the title, Klopp admitted that he had to calm things down a little in the dressing room at half-time with Liverpool losing.

"Really special game when we won 2-1. At half-time, we had a little situation in the dressing room then we could calm it down and then we turned the game around, which was really special," said Klopp.

"That’s when you go for everything and everything is on the edge and these kind of things can happen. We turned around two really special goals, Sadio with the head and the boys really wanted it. It was a very important one. A great feeling after the game.

"Little argument between two players. You will not get the names from me!

"It wasn’t a problem - it was just the situation. That’s exactly how it should be to turn it around. The group of players was really special.

"It meant so much but things can happen when you work with each other for a lot of time, that’s normal, but it worked out."

Whatever words were exchanged at half-time seemingly worked as Liverpool secured a memorable comeback - one of many they produced during that campaign.

Any victory at Villa Park during Klopp's final away game with the Reds would be welcomed.
