Barcelona are all set to complete their first summer signing this week with Joan Garcia’s move to the club all but done.
The attention now turns to the second top priority that Joan Laporta and Co. have had on their agenda – the left wing.
Numerous players have been linked with the Catalan entity in recent weeks including Rafael Leao, Marcus Rashford, and Luis Diaz but it is the Liverpool star who Deco favours the most.
SPORT provides an update on his situation. The outlet confirms Diaz is the player who creates the most consensus internally and that Barcelona see him as the perfect fit for his defensive contributions, attacking flair, and ability to offer support as a centre-forward on need.

The €80 million price tag that Liverpool put forth, however, is something Barcelona refuse to shell out as they feel he should be available for far less given his contractual situation.
Now, the same outlet reports that the player actually has a ‘promise’ from his current employers by which he will be allowed to leave the club even if an offer far from the rumoured €80 million arrives.
There is still no clarity on where the Reds see the bar to be set internally, but it appears to be lesser than the €80 million valuation that is being projected outside. Needless to say, this comes as a boost to Deco and Co.
Diaz, for his part, has rejected lucrative offers from the Middle East and has Barcelona and Liverpool as his only two options for next season. He is pushing for a move, and the Catalans hope the Merseyside club will cave into the pressure.
