Liverpool have already compiled an extensive list of outgoings this summer.

We’ve seen Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Jarell Quansah, Ben Doak, Caoimhin Kelleher, Tyler Morton, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Nat Phillips all take their leave.

Those exits have certainly helped sporting director Richard Hughes claw back some funds after a record-breaking transfer spree.

The Reds have spent close to £300m - and have got plans to add Marc Guehi and Alexander Isak before the end of the window.

Harvey Elliott tipped to leave

There could be even MORE exits in store as Hughes and Arne Slot seek to get the balance right in the squad.

Kostas Tsimikas is one such player who could leave - with his former club Olympiacos now emerging as prime candidates for the Greece international’s signature.

Another player heavily tipped to depart has been Harvey Elliott. The 22-year-old playmaker has got a contract until 2027 but is set for a vastly reduced role this season.

Florian Wirtz, Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah are all ahead of him in the pecking order - and that’s why Liverpool are receptive to bids.

Leipzig want Elliott to replace Xavi Simons

If Hughes can bring in a decent fee for the England under-21 international then it would be no surprise to see him leave before September 1.

The team most likely to land Elliott has been reported to be RB Leipzig. With Xavi Simons seemingly bound for Chelsea, there would be no shortage of opportunities for Elliott in the Red Bulls’ first team.

That of course would be a key requirement for the playmaker - who saw his minutes severely restricted under Arne Slot last term.

Leipzig smashed by Bayern

However recent events could provoke a U-turn for the attacker with warning signs flashing over a move to Leipzig.

Having failed to win ANY of their final five Bundesliga games of last season - slipping out of European contention - things have somehow got even worse for Jurgen Klopp’s club this term.

Having lost flagship striker Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United in the off-season, Leipzig kicked off their league campaign with a stern examination against champions Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

It was an atrocious performance on the part of Ole Werner’s side - going down 6-0 and setting themselves up for a horror season.

Elliott should reconsider Leipzig move

Harry Kane hit a hat-trick and Luis Diaz was also on the scoresheet for Bayern - but the awfulness of the Red Bull performance was the true story of the night.

If they are going to be languishing in the doldrums this season - and don’t forget that Castello Lukeba could be leaving along with Simons - then it’s really not the place for Elliott to re-ignite his career.

The Englishman should think VERY carefully about his next move - and perhaps consider another off instead. Former club Fulham - as well as Tottenham - have been reported as interested.

But right now he would be walking into a circus at RB Leipzig - who look set for a nightmare campaign.
