The 24-year-old played 32 of the Foxes’ 38 Premier League matches as they were relegated from the Premier League last season with the Englishman contributing two goals and two assists.

Leicester have already seen eight players leave the club this summer with Youri Tielemans, James Maddison and Harvey Barnes among the most notable departees.

They have already spent money on strengthening their side but they could lose another of their Premier League starters with claims Liverpool could now be after Dewsbury-Hall.

Liverpool have signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai from Brighton and RB Leipzig respectively as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his side.

Those signings made up for losing James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer but the unexpected departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho means more midfield incomings are expected.

Widespread reports currently have Southampton’s Romeo Lavia as their top target to improve their midfield area but it seems likely that Liverpool will sign at least one more in that area this summer.

And now Football Transfers chief football correspondent Jacque Talbot tweeted on Friday morning: ‘Hear Liverpool are looking at Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall over a possible move.’

The Liverpool Echo are reporting that there is a ‘transfer impasse’ between Liverpool and Southampton over Lavia after claims the Reds upped their £38m package for the Championship midfielder by just £3m to £41m earlier this week.

Southampton, who were relegated from the Premier League with Leicester last season, are looking for a total package worth £50m with Lavia having agreed terms on a five-year contract with Liverpool a while ago.

Belgium journalist Sacha Tavolieri has brought an update in Liverpool interest in his compatriot with a third and final bid expected soon.

Tavolieri said in an interview with UB: “These will be crucial days for the transfer of Roméo Lavia to Liverpool. Personally, there has been an agreement for some time. Lavia waits for the green light to take his medical tests with the Reds. Liverpool will make a third and ultimate attempt to sign Lavia from Southampton.

“They want to seduce the Saints with 40 million euros + bonuses for the young Belgian. Lavia has a 5-year contract at Anfield.”
