Taylor Hinds has officially departed Liverpool Women after five influential seasons, bringing to a close a period in which she firmly established herself as one of the team’s most consistent and trusted figures. The 25-year-old defender exits as the club’s third-highest appearance-maker in the Women’s Super League era, behind only Gemma Bonner and Ashley Hodson.
Since arriving from Everton in the summer of 2020, Hinds amassed 131 appearances in all competitions and scored eight goals. Her reliability and versatility down the left flank made her a vital presence under both Vicky Jepson and later Matt Beard.
It was during the 2021–22 campaign that Hinds’s influence became impossible to overlook. She played a central role in Liverpool’s promotion-winning season, helping secure the FA Women’s Championship title. The success returned the Reds to the top flight and marked a pivotal turning point for the club’s ambitions.
In the years that followed, Hinds not only solidified her role in the starting XI but also wore the armband as vice-captain. Her leadership qualities came to the fore, and she became a guiding presence for younger players in a squad gradually rebuilding its WSL credentials.
Hinds’s departure was confirmed with a heartfelt message to Liverpool supporters. Her words reflected both gratitude and a deep connection to the club’s fanbase and identity:
“Dear Reds, I’m sorry I haven’t had the chance to say a proper goodbye. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel so welcome when I joined back in 2020. We’ve shared some incredible highs that I’ll never forget – being promoted back into the WSL and then having the chance of taking part in the 2022 parade, which was one of the best days of my life. I’ll always be grateful for the love and support I received from all of you – I could always hear you. To the managers I’ve worked with and all the staff, thank you for constantly pushing me to be my best and helping me grow both on and off the pitch. Being given the opportunity to lead the team out on several occasions was an absolute honour and a moment of real pride. To my teammates over the years, some of you have become my friends for life. I truly wish each of you the very best in your futures. We have made some special memories on and off the pitch that will always stay with me. I wish nothing but continued success for this team and this club. I’m incredibly proud to have been part of this club and to have worn the shirt – it’s truly been a privilege. Thank you for everything.”
Taylor Hinds leaves Liverpool Women with a legacy rooted in commitment, growth, and influence. Whether defending resolutely or driving forward with purpose, she was a mainstay in a side evolving into a more competitive WSL outfit. Her departure marks the end of a chapter, but her impact — both statistically and symbolically — will not be forgotten.
As the club prepares for a new season, finding a replacement with the same level of consistency and leadership will be no small task. For Hinds, the next challenge awaits — and wherever she goes, she carries the experience and stature built over a memorable spell on Merseyside.
Liverpool FC extended their gratitude, stating: “Everyone at LFC would like to thank Taylor for her contributions and wish her every success in the future.”
