Liverpool manager Arne Slot"s reignited speculation over his club’s pursuit of Alexander Isak as the Reds prepare to face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Monday night.

Isak Pushing for Move

The Swedish striker's been pressing Newcastle for weeks to allow him to join Liverpool. Reports confirmed the Reds tabled 120 million sterling pound bid earlier this month which Newcastle rejected.

Since then negotiations have stalled though Liverpool hasn't withdrawn interest.

Slot’s Careful Response

Speaking at his pre match press conference, Slot avoided directly addressing the pursuit of Isak. Instead he stressed:

The Dutch coach added that he's "very happy" with his current squad but admitted the club's always shown ambition when the right opportunity arises.

Tension Between Isak & Newcastle

Isak's openly voiced frustration accusing Newcastle of breaking promises & insisting that leaving would be "best for everyone"

However the club insists their terms for sale haven't been met and does not expect movement before the window closes.
