In a recent report, Bola VIP mentioned that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Santos forward Marcos Leonardo this summer. It has been claimed that the Reds are monitoring the progress of the Brazilian talent as they look to build for the future.

Leonardo’s Outstanding Rise In Brazilian Football

Leonardo has enjoyed an impressive rise at the Brazilian club where he has established himself as a decent centre-forward over the past couple of years. The 19-year-old has made 102 senior appearances for Santos so far, netting 28 goals and earning six assists in the process on all fronts.

The Brazilian prospect has already shown flashes of his brilliance but needs to figure out a way to be more consistent with his goal-scoring numbers in the final third.

Liverpool Are Keeping Tabs On Leonardo: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Leonardo can be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing with confidence on the field. He is usually quite clever with his movements in and around the opposition penalty box and can engineer some inviting opportunities for his teammates to find the back of the net.

Someone of Leonardo’s skillset and potential would be a good acquisition for Liverpool as he would serve as an ideal, long-term successor to Roberto Firmino, who is in the last year of his contract at Anfield.

At 19, the future is quite bright for the young Brazilian attacker as long as he continues to improve his overall game with each season. We can expect Leonardo to develop into a top goal-scorer under the guidance of a world-class manager like Jurgen Klopp. However, it remains to be seen whether he can successfully cope with the physical nature and high intensity of Premier League football.

Still, there is no denying that the pros outweigh the cons of signing him. The Santos whizkid could even help the Reds compete for a lot of major trophies over the next decade. Thus, it makes sense for the Merseyside outfit to try everything they can to lure Leonardo to English football before the end of this summer transfer window.
