Liverpool are weighing up a move for an exceptional £100m rated midfielder in 2025.
The Anfield side have been attempting to bolster their midfield ranks for a couple of summers - ever since Fabinho's departure - but have failed to complete deals for their priority targets.
Chelsea duo Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia both opted for the London club last season with Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi choosing to stay put at his boyhood club in recent weeks.
Now according to the Daily Mail the Reds are exploring a move to sign Wharton after having tentative interest in the midfielder this summer.
Liverpool are set to face competition with Premier League rivals Manchester City for the Crystal Palace starlet.
Though there remains to be an interest in a move for Zubimendi, albeit only if the Spaniard is finally prepared to leave the Basque country, Wharton could now be a strong alternative for the Reds.
The England international joined the Eagles in a £22 million move from Blackburn in January and has caught the eye of many top teams with his seamless transition into the top flight.
His impressive second-half to the Premier League campaign earned him a spot in England's Euro 2024 squad.

If Liverpool manage to secure a deal for Wharton, they’ll be guaranteed a supreme young talent with Premier League pedigree and a huge amount of potential left to reach. Qualities in which the Reds would primarily look for.
Though this will inevitably come with a price. According to Football Transfers, Crystal Palace value their midfielder at £100m.
The East London club aren’t ones to budge on their valuations either.
We’ve seen that this summer in relation to a number of their big names. Their stubbornness saw them keep Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze beyond last week’s deadline.

Newcastle expressed strong interest in bringing Guehi to Tyneside, more-so after Fabian Schar was dismissed for a head but in the Magpies’ opening Premier League game.
Crystal Palace rejected multiple bids in excess for £70m the centre-back whilst also remaining firm on their £68m clause for Eze which saw the attacker stay.
A similar stance was taken on Michael Olise, whose £60m clause was eventually met by German Giants Bayern Munich.
