In a recent report, SportBILD (via Sport Witness) stated that Liverpool are among the clubs hoping to sign Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier. It has been claimed that the Reds would have to rival Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest in pursuit of the German youngster in the summer.

Beier’s Good Run Of Form In Bundesliga

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a decent run of form at the German club this season after putting in a string of impressive performances as the focal point of their attack. Beier has found the back of the net on 12 occasions and secured five assists in 26 matches for Hoffenheim during this campaign across all fronts.

The German talent has led the line well and deserves some credit for averaging 2.6 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. However, he has lacked quality when linking up play in the final third, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 69.3% in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).

Beier’s current deal at the German club will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, Liverpool would have to pay a hefty fee if they want to sign the German starlet later this year.

Will Beier Be A Good Signing For Liverpool?

Beier can find some space for himself to get a few shots in at goal. He can be a streaky goal-getter in the final third but needs to find a way to be more consistent with his offensive numbers.

The German sensation can create the odd chance for others around him in the opponent’s half and can make some driving runs with the ball as well. Standing at 1.85m, he can use his strong frame to hold possession up for his teammates but needs to improve his link-up play up top.

We can expect Beier to add more quality to Liverpool‘s frontline. He has what it takes to serve as an important member of the Merseyside club‘s squad in the coming years. However, at 21, the German talent would need some time to get adjusted to the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football. Still, there is no denying that Beier would be a great signing for the Reds to pull off this summer.
