Bayer Leverkusen have entered ‘concrete talks’ with Liverpool for defender Jarell Quansah, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

They are also speaking to his entourage as they look to prise the Liverpool centre-half from Anfield. Quansah is reportedly high on their transfer wishlist.

Liverpool have made a strong start to the transfer window. The Premier League champions want to retain their crown and compete on other fronts next term.

Slot needs to give him meaningful minutes next season while helping him transition to a future starting role.

With Van Dijk turning 34 next month and Konate’s contract ticking towards its 2026 expiry, Quansah represents succession planning done right.

Selling him now might offer a quick return, but it would be a costly mistake in the long term.
