In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Liverpool are among clubs hoping to sign Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele who is set to become a free agent at the end of this month. It is believed that the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the French speedster and could offer him a chance to seal a move to Anfield this summer.

Dembele’s Impressive Season In Spanish Football

Dembele enjoyed a good campaign with the Catalan giants recently as he managed to find some form for them in the final third. The talented wing wizard did well to score two goals and secure 13 assists in 32 matches for Barca last season on all fronts.

The French sensation gave a good account of himself by averaging 2.2 shots, 2.1 key passes and 2.8 dribbles per game in La Liga. He was even excellent with his ball distribution after he made 84.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

What Will Dembele Add To Liverpool Head Coach Jurgen Klopp’s Team?

Dembele has got the pace to get in behind the opposition backline and is an excellent dribbler out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to set up a few decent chances for his teammates on the attacking end of the field. Dembele is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also act as a left-winger if needed.

The French talent is also proficient at getting a few shots on target and can be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal. However, he has had his fair share of injury problems recently.

Still, the fact that Dembele will be a free agent soon, makes him an exciting option for Liverpool to pursue this summer. We can expect the Frenchman to add more pace and creativity to Jurgen Klopp‘s frontline.
