Liverpool defender Kostas Tismikas has a lot of positive things to say about his teammate and friend Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian winger has been on fire for the Reds this term, and is widely regarded as the best player in the world on current form.

Tsimikas, who has enjoyed more first team game time this term compared to last season, was asked about Salah during a UEFA Champions League pre-match press conference.

He said on Salah: "Mo is one of my best mates here. Always when I want something, he was always there for me to help me. I don't want to speak about the player – he's fantastic.

"As a person, he is one of the best I have met in my life. He was there when I wanted him and needed him to tell me what the manager wants. He was always there to help me and we are very good friends and we spend a lot of time here in the training ground together and we have a lot of chats."

Asked whether there is anyone better at the moment than Salah, Tsimikas replied: "In my opinion, I think not. He is doing very, very well. For me, he is the best player in the world at this moment."
