Lionel Messi has played with some phenomenal players – but who is the most incredible XI he’s ever played with over the years?
The Argentinian footballing phenomenon has a hell of a trophy cabinet. He’s won Champions Leagues, La Ligas, a Ligue 1 and even the Copa America – but he’s certainly had some help with some brilliant teammates along the way.
During his career at Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and the Argentinian national side, Messi has played with some top names.
Find out right here below.
A forgotten keeper that was brilliant during his time for Barcelona – Victor Valdes, locks down the spot between the sticks.
the most outstanding left-back for Messi to have played with an ever-reliable full-back with blistering pace.
The first centre-half is Gerard Pique, who again is a great servant to Barcelona and is solid as anything at the back.
Our first non-Barcelona player is Spanish centre-half Sergio Ramos. Enemies at former clubs, united in Paris – although Ramos has slightly fallen off in terms of talent, he’s undoubtedly one of the best players to have ever played with Messi, given his career at Real Madrid.
An iconic full-back who revolutionised the position. Dani Alves will go down as one of the finest right-backs of all time.
At CDM – a player that makes football look so simple it’s Sergio Busquets. Busquets is one of the first names on the team sheet for Barca over the years, a Rolls Royce of a midfielder.
Arguably the most outstanding passer of all time, Xavi had immense vision and passing that set up Messi for many goals.
Another world-class playmaker throughout his time in Spain, Andres Iniesta, will go down as one of the midfield greats.
Often scrutinised, he has undeniable talent. Neymar is the only player on this list to play with Messi at two clubs, currently residing in France with him at PSG.
The final piece in the infamous MSN trio – Luis Suarez. The U Uruguayan is clinical in front of goal and will go down in history as one of the most prolific strikers ever.
Completing the side is the young Frenchman – Kylian Mbappe. To be in the most incredible XI to ever play with Messi at 23 is dumbfounding, and it shows what an exceptional talent this guy is.
