Lille refusing to discuss Edon Zhegrova transfer with Marseille as Juventus open talks | OneFootball

Lille OSC are refusing to engage in talks with Olympique de Marseille over the transfer of Kosovo international Edon Zhegrova (26), according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Lille president Olivier Létang has already confirmed that Zhegrova has an agreement in place with OM. “He came to see me 10 minutes before training, telling me that he had an agreement with OM, and that he had spoken with their manager,” he told BeIn Sports on Friday.

LOSC’s president has been angered by OM’s pursuit of the player.  “I’m surprised because we have had no contact with Marseille. The rules are quite clear; you’re not allowed to contact a player from another club without permission. To date, I’ve not received any request from Marseille to be able to speak to my player. I heard this morning that the Marseille coach had spoken to my player. It is surprising, but we’re never short of surprises with Marseille,” he said last week.

Marseille are now attempting to get in contact with Lille to finalise a deal for the forward. However, those attempts have thus far proved futile. As per Foot Mercato, Létang is refusing to discuss a transfer with OM, and so Les Phocéens are yet to submit an official bid.

With the relationship between the two clubs strained, Juventus are attempting to conclude a deal of their own. Talks with Zhegrova and the Serie A side are open, whilst the Italians are also in contact with LOSC. The coming hours will be decisive in the deal, with the player absolutely intent on a transfer before the closure of the transfer window.
