Liam Delap chose Chelsea despite Man Utd telling him Blues were signing Joao Pedro as well | OneFootball

Liam Delap apparently still chose to join Chelsea despite Manchester United being in his ear about Joao Pedro heading to Chelsea.

Chelsea had a very busy start to the transfer window and a dramatic end to it. It’s easy to forget that signing Liam Delap and Joao Pedro was part of the same summer transfer window because it’s been so long and it sort of happened in two parts for Chelsea due to the Club World Cup.

The ending to the window was a bit frustrating really and Chelsea certainly had a better start to it. Outgoings was always the focus and the main priority, but many players failed to get their moves away.

Winger Tyrique George was one of those who has now been left upset at not being able to join Fulham on deadline day due to the documents not being signed on time.

Axel Disasi, David Datro Fofana, and Raheem Sterling are all still left at the club as well. Although we had an exclusive yesterday on a possible move for Disasi to Saudi, even if that does look very unlikely to happen.

Delap and Pedro were done and dusted early doors though, and Pedro in particular came in and banged in the Club World Cup to help Chelsea win it!

Interestingly, it looks like Manchester United were in Delap’s ear telling him about Chelsea signing Joao Pedro as well. Yet he still chose Chelsea!

The Athletic report that Liam Delap chose Chelsea, sold on being their No 9, despite Man United figures advising him Joao Pedro was set to head that direction too from Brighton.

I rate that a lot

Fair play to Delap for ignoring United’s dirty little tactics and joining Chelsea still. I mean, who would want to be at United right now anyway!? It’s toxic!
