The 33-year-old left former club Aston Villa at the end of last season and she has opted to take the step into day-to-day football management, gaining experience working under new Lewes boss Booth.
Haigh has a wealth of experience from her 17-year playing career. She represented a whole host of clubs including Leeds United, Yeovil Town, Coventry United and Aston Villa. The defender was a Barclays Women’s Championship winner with former club Aston Villa back in 2019/2020 and she will be hoping to now bring those experiences of second tier glory to her new club.
After joining Lewes, Haigh said “I’m delighted to join Lewes. It’s a brilliant football club and our ethos and values here align with mine.
“There are some brilliant people here and they were a big pull for me. Working with Scott (Booth), he’s a very experienced manager and knows the game really well. The likes of Kelly Lindsey as well, it’s a really good group of professional people who have a vision and are passionate about developing the club.”
Lewes begin the 2022/2023 season with an away fixture at Birmingham City on Sunday.
