According to a report from RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, RC Lens have reached an agreement with AJ Auxerre to sign striker Lassine Sinayoko (25).
The Mali international has also given his blessing to the move, even though it was reported that he was keen on joining OGC Nice, who sent a rejected offer (valued at €6m with €1m in bonuses) for him earlier this week.
Hawkins writes that Nice withdrew from the deal following this rejection and did not push for the striker to join them, allowing for Lens to steal in and secure an agreement with both club and player, although some final details still have to be ironed out.
Lens will pay €8m for a striker who played an important role in helping AJ Auxerre maintain their top-flight status in their first season back in Ligue 1. At Lens, he will look to revitalise an attack that struggled to find the back of the net last season.
