Auxerre says no to Nice's first offer for Lassine Sinayoko
Lassine Sinayoko has been the subject of an initial approach from OGC Nice, which AJ Auxerre has turned down. The Eagles submitted an opening bid of €6 million, bonuses included, for the Malian striker. Auxerre's management considered the offer insufficient.
Lassine Sinayoko has caught the eye of OGC Nice, who are looking to bolster their attacking options after a difficult start to the season. The Eagles suffered a 1-0 defeat to Toulouse on the opening day of Ligue 1, exposing their shortcomings in the final third. The departures of Evann Guessand to Aston Villa and Gaëtan Laborde have left a gap that only Terem Moffi, returning from injury, can currently fill as centre-forward.
Nice's interest in the Malian turned concrete with an official offer to AJA, but the Burgundy club has so far refused to entertain negotiations, keen to keep hold of their top scorer. However, Nice could return with an improved bid in the coming days.
