L’Équipe report tonight that Ligue 1’s current second-place side Lens are interested in signing midfielder Adrien Thomasson from relegation battlers Strasbourg, with an offer having already come in the from Artois club.
The Sang et Or, fresh off their impressive 3-1 win over league leaders Paris Saint-Germain, are said to be looking to reinforce their midfield options, with the fitness of David Pereira da Costa being a concern.
The Alsatians are considering letting the 29-year-old move on, with only a year and a half left on the former Evian and Nantes man’s contract. Should the goalscoring midfielder move on, the club are interested in making a move for Morgan Sanson, with the Aston Villa midfielder ostensibly pushing for a move back to France amid a lack of playing time in the Premier League.
Thomasson has been one of Strasbourg’s best performers since joining four and a half years ago, and has found the net 28 times – although he has yet to score this term, amid the club’s disastrous form which has left them battling for top-flight survival.
