Lens consider Pau López in search for Brice Samba’s successor | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, RC Lens are looking towards Pau López (30) in their search for a successor to Brice Samba (30) who appears likely to leave the club this winter (even if Lens blocked his departure to Stade Rennais at the last minute).

Lens are reportedly very interested in López who is on loan at Girona FC from Olympique de Marseille and have made contact with the player’s agent. López is thought to be unhappy in Spain where he plays second-fiddle to Paulo Gazzaniga (33). López has only made one appearance for his hometown club which came in a shock Copa del Rey defeat to UD Logroñés.

However, a transfer to Les Sang et Or remains a complicated scenario. Lens would have to convince Girona to cancel their loan and then negotiate a transfer with Marseille, before eventually agreeing personal terms with the goalkeeper.
