Ligue 1 outfit RC Lens have today agreed a fee to sign 20-year-old midfielder Andy Diouf from Swiss 1st division outfit FC Basel, according to L’Équipe.

After signing Stijn Spierings on a free transfer from Toulouse, Andy Diouf is going to sign for the French vice-champions.

The midfielder is going to be present on Friday for the start of pre-season after Lens found a €15m including bonuses agreement with FC Basel to acquire the player.

Basel, who finished 5th in the 2022/23 campaign in the Swiss 1st division, activated their option to buy the player just last month from Rennes, whom they loaned him from last summer.

The player has already agreed personal terms with Les Sang et Or and will pen a 5-year deal.

Lens are cognisant of the fact that they could lose captain and enigmatic box-to-box midfielder Séko Fofana, who has a major offer from Al-Nassr.
