Brian Brobbey’s return to Ajax will be a brief one, according to parent club RB Leipzig.
The 20-year-old striker left the Johan Cruyff Arena last summer on a free contract to join the Bundesliga side.
However he was loaned back to the Amsterdam club in January, and has scored three goals in four Eredivisie appearances since.
The player has intimated he would like to remain at his hometown club, but Leipzig insist they are not interested in letting him go on a permanent basis.
Ilaix Moriba is another youngster out on loan (at Valencia), but Leipzig’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff is adamant both men will return to Germany in the summer.
“We are watching and guiding both players intensively. Brian came back from injury, Ilaix plays regularly and is developing well,” Mintzlaff said, per De Telegraaf.
“We will talk about the future with both of them after the season. We are proud to have signed these top talents for a long period at RB Leipzig.”
Brobbey is under contract with Die Roten Bullen until the end of the 2024/25 season.
