Red Bull Leipzig striker Jean-Kevin Augustin has been linked with a reunion with Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl for quite some time but now, a new face has entered the race.
According to the Telegraph, Leicester City will now battle the Saints for the 21-year-old’s signature.
Augustin had been a regular under Hasenhüttl at Leipzig but has since lost his place under Ralf Rangnick and with Julian Nagelsmann arriving this summer, the Frenchman could be allowed to leave in the upcoming window.
The report and several other rumors have stated that Augustin will be available for just £17.5m, making him an enticing buy for any team looking to move up the Premier League table.
Despite playing in just 382 Bundesliga minutes this season, Augustin performed well in other competitions and has totaled eight goals and two assists in 29 matches for Leipzig.
