Leicester City Women sign midfielder Emilia Pelgander

Leicester City have signed Sweden U-23 international Emilia Pelgander from Damallsvenskan side KIF Örebro on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

The 19-year-old central midfielder has made 22 appearances for Sweden’s U-19 and U-23 teams, the four years with Örebro saw her play 84 times.

Pelgander told LCFC.com: “I’m really excited and grateful for this opportunity. I really liked my first talks with the manager, discussing how Leicester play and the philosophy here, and I think it will be a good fit for me.

“It’s a style of football I like to play; aggressive pressure and trying to keep the ball, and I think Leicester have started a journey that I want to be on.”
