Leicester City submit offer for Azzedine Ounahi | OneFootball

Premier League club Leicester City have submitted an offer for Angers star Azzedine Ounahi, according to L’Equipe (via GFFN).

The Foxes offered a base fee of €20 million, plus another €10m if they qualify for the Champions League. Angers are unhappy with the offer and will continue negotiations.

The Morocco international was one of the breakout stars of the World Cup and attracted interest from top European clubs including Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.

Ounahi was one of the best midfielders at the tournament in Qatar. His technique, guile, dribbling and drive complimented Sofyan Amrabat and Selim Amallah in Morocco’s midfield.

Leicester registered interest in Ounahi after the tournament. Rumours emerged linking the club to a move for the player, and it looks like they have submitted their offer to the Ligue 1 outfit.

The 22-year-old joined Le SCO from third-tier side Avranches 18 months ago. He is in the 99th percentile for dribbles completed among midfielders in the top five leagues.

He also knows how to get himself into the opposition box and has a fierce shot on him.

Leicester are preparing themselves for the departure of midfielder Youri Tielemans. The Belgian has only six months left on his deal with the club.

They tried to sell him last summer to recoup some funds. They placed a £35 million price tag on him, but no club took the bait. Arsenal signalled the most interest but didn’t sign him.

Tielemans is free to start negotiating with clubs this January, and Leicester may even decide to sell now to get some money.

If Tielemans leaves the club, Ounahi will make a fine addition to the squad to replace him.
